Jakarta – On August 18, 2023, We held our first company visit program to Harbour Energy located in South Jakarta. This event lasted for approximately one full day of office hours.
The event started with an introduction to work safety in the Harbor Energy office environment. The session also marked the start of the company visit, which was then followed by an introduction to the company profile. The event lasted until lunch time, yet after that the main session began. The main session is a session from Harbour Energy to explain to us how a geologist works in the oil and gas industry, especially in the Harbour Energy company itself. Which then shown to us how computer applications such as petrel, techlog, etc that geologists use in processing data or modeling data related to the work of a geologist directly. All of these sessions ended with a quiz about the lessons and information that had been given by Harbour Energy before.
This event is our first company visit event which aims to broaden geological insights about the work environment and how geologists work in the oil and gas industry. Indirectly preparing knowledge for AAPG ITB SC members class of 2020, many of whom will graduate next year. This company visit was the first in a series which was attended by 20 members. Hopefully in the next series there will be even more people and can broaden more our insights.
